Tracy L. Schimelfenig

Community and sport, especially basketball, have been meaningful threads throughout Tracy Schimelfenig’s life. She played college basketball for 4 years at Marywood University, later served as an assistant coach for the San Diego Mesa College women’s basketball team, and spent many years playing and volunteering in local rec leagues. She’s active with multiple nonprofits and women-focused organizations, where she mentors, supports program development, and looks for practical ways to lift up girls and women in sports and beyond.

As the founder of Schimelfenig Legal, Tracy counsels sports related businesses, athletes, and nonprofits on a range of legal needs. Through her nonprofit consulting firm, Savvy Sports Philanthropy, she helps organizations strengthen their structure, strategy, governance, and community impact.

She holds a J.D. from California Western School of Law, an M.S. in Sport Administration from Arkansas State University, and a B.A. in English from Marywood University. She also completed the Business of Basketball program through Sports Business Classroom.
